It is so amazing to know that authors are prophets and the voice of the people. These have been seen in Asaba, as many young actresses are beginning to depict most of the characters that is being portrayed by our writers and film makers.

On Tuesday the thirteenth of this month, two actresses were seen as they were being beaten on the street in the early hours of the morning by some boys who picked them up in a club together with their friends and took them home to gratify their sexual desires. Two of these girls, as reported by their clients, stole ninety dollars, a gold necklace and hid it inside their inside their vaginas. When asked, they denied it, picked offence and tried to leave. The boys became angry and decided to conduct a search on them, the two girls who had the items hidden in their bodies, began to rage and threaten to fight. Eventually the boys began to beat them, tore their clothes, and searched them thoroughly, discovering the items hidden inside their private parts. They pleaded for mercy and were allowed to leave with torn clothes. What a shame…

These bad eggs are today becoming more common in the industry. Personally, I think it’s a result of the lack of discipline and the screening which has been trivialized due to sentiments and laxity. I will suggest that all the state chapters, including the national executives, should begin to take screenings seriously as criteria and should also be followed strictly. All chapters should activate a disciplinary team or committee as “watch dog” and a whip to those who are suppose to be on the streets, those that do not uphold the glory, image and symbol of the profession as a mirror of the society.

we need to reconsider our screening criteria…
go back to the foundation, do our home work and kill the virus that is fast eating deep into the root of our reputable industry… so as to redeem our glorious image.
